Visual Effects Specialist

He is a graduate of Beaconhouse Cambridge Branch, Karachi (now PECHS Campus). He was the Technical Director for the movie ‘The Golden Compass’ that won an Oscar for best visual effects (2007).  His forte is imitating and producing effects for natural phenomena. He specialized in visual effects from Savannah College of Art and Design, GA, United States. He is currently working with Rhythm & Hues Studios, in the U.S and was the Visual Fx Team Lead on the movie ‘Percy Jackson 2’. Some other projects to his credit are Life of Pi (2012), The Cabin in the Woods (2011), X-Men: First Class (2011), Hop (2011), Yogi Bear (2011), Island of the Lost (2009), The Mummy (2008), The Incredible Hulk (2008), Spiderman 3 (2007) and Ghost Rider (2007). He has worked with prestigious organizations such as Sony Pictures, Imageworks and Digital Domain.

She is an alumna of Beaconhouse Liberty Campus. She has been a part of a myriad of Hollywood films including 10,000 BC, the Chronicles of Narnia, Prince of Persia, Godzilla and X-Men: Days of Future Past. She also worked for BBC, Glassworks Barcelona and MPC.

Arsalan Hassan

Vocalist, Music Producer, Sound Engineer, Composer

He is an alumnus of Beaconhouse Defence Campus, Lahore (2015). He is also pursuing a dual degree in Accounting and Finance. He got into Berkeley College of Music on scholarship at the age of 17. He has the distinction of being the first Pakistani to be featured on Radio One, Lebanon and signed to Broadcast Music (Sony LA). He has played for numerous shows all over Pakistan and Dubai.

Nadia Hussain

Dental Surgeon/Super Model/Actress/TV Show Host and Entrepreneur

She completed her A Levels from Beaconhouse Defence Campus, Karachi  in 1998 and went on to study at Fatima Jinnah Dental College. She holds three distinctions in Dentistry, is a member of Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PMDC), and a diploma holder/member of American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine. However, Nadia is better known for her career in showbiz. She is one of the country’s top models, an actress, and a TV show host. The multi-faceted model has also launched a lawn collection in her name, a shoe brand by the name ‘Fetish’ and a skin clinic called ‘Radiance’ in Karachi.

Fahad Hussayn

Fashion Designer

He is known for his contemporary themes, mind boggling embellishments and innovations in the fashion world. Fahad was a nominee for Upcoming Talent at Lux Style Awards (2009) and he also won a Hum Award for Best in Women’s wear (2012).

Sidra Iqbal

TV personality, PR Practitioner, Brand Activist, and Youth Development Advocate and Entrepreneur

A graduate of Beaconhouse Gulshan Campus Karachi, Sidra rose to prominence when she became the first Pakistani to win the prestigious English Speaking Union’s International Public Speaking Championship in London. During her student life, she acted as a Youth Ambassador and a Change Activist at a variety of forums all over the world. She has worked at the British Council, ARY and Ogilvy & Mather, and has hosted and produced talk shows for television and radio. She is interested in a range of disciplines, which led to her winning a full scholarship to attend the International Relations Summer Program at Oxford University, UK. Sidra has been part of several international youth forums, owing to her interest in international relations, education and training. Currently, she runs her own PR firm.

Shehzad Roy

Singer, Social Worker and Humanitarian

In addition to being a renowned singer, he later shifted his interest towards humanitarian causes. Roy founded the Zindagi Trust, an NGO for improving the quality and accessibility of education for Pakistani children. He has received prestigious awards like the Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (Medal of Excellence) in 2005, Sitara-i-Eisaar (Star of Sacrifice) in 2006 and Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Star of Excellence) in 2018 from the Government of Pakistan. He was also selected to be a torch bearer for the 2008 Olympic Games.

HSY currently houses its flagship studio in Lahore, with complementing stores in Karachi, Manchester, Houston and Dubai.

Danish Aftab

Associate Lawyer– Office of the Attorney General for Pakistan

He has served 3 Attorney-Generals of Pakistan: Mr. Ashtar Ausaf Ali, Mr.Khalid Javaid Khan and Mr. Anwar Mansoor Khan. He has worked on legal research, cases pertaining to the disqualification of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and national security matters including the case of Kulbhushan Yadav before the International Court of Justice (ICJ) among many other cases. He also served as a member of the negotiations team that amicably settled the $ 1.2 Billion ICSID Award in the Karkey matter against Pakistan.

Iqra Ashraf

First Secretary (Political Affairs), Embassy of Pakistan, Paris, France

After passing her O-Levels from Beaconhouse School System (Multan Campus) in 2004, and A-levels from University College Lahore, she did her LLB Honors from University of London and graduated in 2009 with a 2:1 degree. She cleared CSS on her first attempt in 2010. She was allocated to the prestigious Foreign Service of Pakistan and joined the 39th Common Training Program at Civil Services Academy, Lahore as a Pakistani diplomat. She joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2013 and was ranked 5th in the batch. At the Ministry, she served as Assistant Director SAARC, SEAP and HR at various times as a Grade 17 officer. After being promoted to Grade 18, she was posted as First Secretary (Political) at Embassy of Pakistan where she looks after the entirety of Pakistan & bilateral political relations with the host government, advises the Foreign Office on France related policies, hosts and conducts high level delegation visits, maintains government-to-government liaison (including through parliamentary diplomacy) and maintains continuous political reporting from France to Pakistan on all issues of importance. In France, she also served as Pakistan & Deputy Permanent Delegate to UNESCO from 2018-19, where she defended Pakistan & core cultural/educational interests.

Laila Kasuri

Water Analyst at Global Green Growth Institute

She has recently (2019) been recognized as one of the global change makers in Forbes Asia 30 under 30. Moreover, she has led research at organizations such as the World Bank, the US Army Corps of Engineers, and the UC Davis Center for Watershed Sciences on climate-smart irrigation, flood risk reduction, and river basin planning. Laila also studied at Harvard University, for a degree in Hydrology and Geomechanics. She has worked as a volunteer educator for the Marian Koshland Museum of Science, US and as a lab assistant at Harvard Laboratory for Particle Physics and Cosmology. At Beaconhouse, Laila participated in debating and public speaking activities, was the Editor-in-Chief of the annual school magazine, and the President and Founder of Liberty Book Club.

Zainab Asad Munir

Zainab is an alumna of BLL. She competed and successfully qualified for Civil Services in the year 2012 and got inducted in FBR. Currently she is working on projects with senior management at FBR to replicate mechanisms designed on the lines of Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

Anoosha Shaigan

Advocate, Human Rights and Technology Lawyer, Editor and Vice President of Courting The Law

Ms Anoosha Shaigan is a High Court Advocate and international human rights and technology lawyer, having worked on various legal and political reforms in human rights, international law, gender justice and legal innovation for over a decade. She serves as the Editor and Vice President of Courting The Law, Pakistan’s first legal news and analysis portal with various award-winning initiatives that leverage technology to improve access to justice, including the award for the “Most Innovative Human Rights Attorney – Pakistan” by Acquisition International and the “Best Legal Analysis Platform – Pakistan” by Asia Pacific Business Insider. She is also the Founding Member of the Legal Informatics Committee at Lahore High Court Bar Association (Asia’s oldest and biggest bar with over 100,000 members) and has been mentioned as Pakistan’s leading technology lawyer by Asia Law Portal. She has worked with various government ministries, judicial bodies and international organizations and also had the honour of being elected as a member of the Governance and Accountability Council of the Global Shapers Community of the World Economic Forum. Nominated as a Young Political Leader by the US Department of State, she was appointed as the honorary Deputy Secretary of State in Indiana during the 2016 US Presidential Election. She has also authored the Legislative Brief on the Right To Information law for Parliament. Ms Shaigan completed her O and A Levels from Defence Campus Lahore, LLM in Technology, Media and Telecommunications Law from Queen Mary University London and a certificate in Technology Policy from MIT.

Meeza Ubaid

Architect and Cultural Heritage Consultant

Meeza is a BEC alumnus and she teaches at the Institute for Art and Culture IAC and also works at THAAP (UNESCO accredited NGO in Lahore, Pakistan). She has been involved in heritage preservation and cultural Safeguarding of tangible and intangible heritage through UNESCO and World Bank funded projects. She was awarded a scholarship by the ITCILO, Turin, Italy for Masters in World Heritage and Cultural projects for Development which she graduated cum laude (distinction). She was also the representative of THAAP and Pakistan in the United Nations headquarters Paris in April 2019. She is also a published researcher with her first publication, a book on the smallest indigenous community of Pakistan, the Kalash community.

Syeda Nain Fatima Abidi

International Cricketer

She is a right-handed batsman, Asian Games Goldmedalist and Fastest Domestic Centurion. Abidi holds the all-time record of being the first Pakistani player to score a century in women’s One-Day Internationals. Abidi served as vice-captain of the Pakistan Women’s Cricket team and is vice-captain of her club ZTBL since 2008.

 

Imam ul Haq

International Cricketer

He represents Pakistan in Test matches, ODI’s and T20 Cricket on an International Level. He plays for both the Pakistan Cricket Team and Peshawar Zalmi in the Pakistan Super League as an opener. He is the second Pakistani batsman after Saleem Elahi to score an ODI hundred at his debut and currently holds the highest opening partnership in ODI’s, with 304 runs with Fakhar Zaman. In January 2019, during the third ODI against South Africa, Imam became the second fastest batsman to score 1,000 runs in ODI’s, doing so in his 19th innings.

Hassan Khan

Pakistani Cricketer

Hassan Khan made his List-A debut in the 2016 Pakistan Cup. Prior to his debut, he was named in Pakistan & squad for the 2016 Under 19 Cricket World Cup. He made his Twenty20 debut for Quetta Gladiators in Pakistan Super League in 2017. He made his first class debut for Karachi Whites and got awarded the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy.  Khan has also served as the captain of Pakistan & squad for Under-19 Cricket World Cup (2018).  He was named in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa & squad for the 2018 Pakistan Cup and was selected to play for the Edmonton Royals in the players & draft for the inaugural edition of the Global T20 Canada tournament.

Atif Shaukat Ali

Pashtoon Murtaza Kazi

He is an alumnus of Beaconhouse School Quetta, 1998. Pashtoon Murtaza Kazi’s field of interest is gastrointestinal oncology, immuno-oncology and cancer genetics. His goal is to develop a career in academic clinical oncology and transition into being a physician scientist focusing on clinical and translational aspects of gastrointestinal oncology, while providing clinical care to these patients.

Faaiz is a BEC alumnus (2011). He completed his MBBS from Shifa College of Medicine, Islamabad and is currently applying for a residency in Pediatrics in the United States. Rohail attended BMI from Pre-K all the way to A Level and later attended Knox College (IL, United States) studying Physics and Pol. Sci. He currently works in the Wealth Management space at BlackRock, the largest asset management firm in the world (~$7 trillion in AUM).

 

Syed Ali Raza Nasir

He completed his O Levels from Beaconhouse North Nazimabad Cambridge in 2010 with 12 A’s (Highest achiever) and A Levels from Beaconhouse College Campus (BCCG) in 2012 with 3 A* and 1 B. He was also the President of the Music Society. He completed his MBBS from Dow Medical University in 2018 and has 3 research articles to his name published in International Peer Reviewed Journals. His major claim to fame is his role as the keyboardist of the band Kashmir which won the Pepsi Battle of Bands in 2017 and won Lux Style Award 2018 for the Best Emerging Talent in music. He is the brand ambassador for Yamaha music and MRM since 2018. He has been the ambassador of Pepsi co. since 2017.

 

Muhammad Rimmel

Muhammad Rimmel is a BMI Campus Alumnus. He has been honored with the Youngest Entrepreneur of Islamabad award by the Entrepreneur Development Institute of Pakistan. His entrepreneurial ventures are one of a kind; Sienna restaurant was unique in its ambiance and Nutella Spot was the first ever joint serving all Nutella based confectionaries. Additionally, Guilty Pleasures was the first ice cream parlor to introduce ice cream rolls in Islamabad. He has also launched Rimmel Fragrances and a clothing line by the name of The Closet. Apart from that he has been involved in numerous theatre plays and music videos. He is a model for the nation’s most highly ranked modelling agency; Citrus Talent.  He has also worked in Mobilink and Silk bank. Rimmel works at Keep Truckin (A Silicon Valley google based startup in USA) as a Regional Sales Manager for customer expansion.

 

Hashaam Qaiser

He is currently pursuing his LL.M. in Corporate Finance and Banking Law from University of London. He has been practicing as a corporate lawyer in an Islamabad based corporate law firm. Moreover, he works as a full-time faculty member at School of International Law, Islamabad teaching the University of London LL.B. external program.

 

Maryam Shera

Senior Analyst at Grant Thornton

She currently works as a senior analyst at Grant Thornton Anjum Rahman (a member firm of Grant Thornton International Ltd) and graduated from BSS in 2012. After graduating from BSS, she did her BSC Hons. in Accounting and Finance from Lahore University of Management Sciences (2018). As a part of the Grant Thornton team she is responsible for preparing financial models, presentations and proposals, conducting financial analysis, presenting sales and research pitches to clients, investors and banks and undertaking international compliance assignments.

 

Suniyya Amna Waraich

Suniyya was employed at IBM, Littleton (Massachusetts) in the capacity of a software engineer. She worked on a team called Watson Workspace making features for an enterprise messaging application. Currently, she is a 2nd year PhD student in the field of neuroscience. She is the only Pakistani whose field of research is the human vision.

 

Haroon Yasin

Founder of Orenda

Haroon started his first educational company at the age of 19, establishing and running slum schools that taught street children. In the 8 years since then, he has founded Orenda— with the dream of capturing the most innovative ideas in learning and scaling it to reach underserved, hard to access areas across the globe. The organization produces a gamified, localized curriculum which is delivered through a mobile platform that is adaptive and understanding of the child’s learning needs. The platform is expected to reach 1 million children across multiple countries in the upcoming years and has earned recognition of Queen Elizabeth and Nobel Laureate Malala Yousufzai.
