Shehzad Roy

Singer, social worker and humanitarian is a Beaconhouse alumnus.

In addition to being a renowned singer, he later shifted his interest towards humanitarian causes. Roy founded the Zindagi Trust, an NGO for improving quality and accessibility of education for Pakistani children. He has received prestigious awards like Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (Medal of Excellence) in 2005, Sitara-i-Eisaar (Star of Sacrifice) in 2006 and Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Star of Excellence) in 2018 from the Government of Pakistan. He was also selected to be a torch bearer for the 2008 Olympic Games.

Nadia Hussain

Dental Surgeon/Super Model/Actress/TV Show Host and Entrepreneur is an alumna of Beaconhouse Defence Campus, Karachi, known as Beaconhouse Public School Previously

She completed her A Levels in 1998 and went on to study at Fatima Jinnah Dental College. She holds three distinctions in Dentistry, is a member of Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PMDC), and a diploma holder/member of American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine. However, Nadia is better known for her career in showbiz. She is one of the country’s top models, an actress, and a TV show host. The multi-talented model has also launched a lawn collection in her name, a shoe collection called ‘Fetish’ and a skin clinic called ‘Radiance’ in Karachi.

Laila Kasuri

Water Analyst at Global Green Growth Institute

She has recently (2019) been recognized as one of the global change makers in Forbes Asia 30 under 30. Moreover, she has led research at organizations such as the World Bank, the US Army Corps of Engineers, and the UC Davis Center for Watershed Sciences on climate-smart irrigation, flood risk reduction, and river basin planning. Laila has been a student at Harvard University as well, where she studied for a degree in Hydrology and Geomechanics. She has worked as a Volunteer Educator for the Marian Koshland Museum of Science, US and as a Lab Assistant at Harvard Laboratory for Particle Physics and Cosmology. At Beaconhouse, Laila participated in debating and public speaking activities, was the Editor-in-Chief of the annual school magazine, and the President and Founder of Liberty Book Club.

Iqra Ashraf

First Secretary (Political Affairs), Embassy of Pakistan, Paris, France

After passing my O-Levels from Beaconhouse School System (Multan Campus) in 2004, and A-levels from University College Lahore, I did my LLB Honors from University of London and graduated in 2009 with a 2:1 degree. Immediately thereafter I started preparing for my Civil Services Competitive Examination and cleared CSS on my first attempt in 2010. I was allocated to the prestigious Foreign Service of Pakistan and joined the 39th Common Training Program at Civil Services Academy, Lahore as a Pakistani diplomat. After completing all 4 mandatory trainings, I joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2013 and was ranked 5th in the batch inter-se seniority. At the Ministry, I have served as Assistant Director SAARC, SEAP and HR at various times as a Grade 17 officer. After being promoted to Grade 18, I was posted as First Secretary (Political) at Embassy of Pakistan Paris (my current assignment) where I look after the entirety of Pakistan & bilateral political relations with the host government, advise the Foreign Office on France related policies, host and conduct high level delegation visits, maintain government-to-government liaison (including through parliamentary diplomacy) and maintain continuous political reporting from France to Pakistan on all issues of importance. In France, I also served as Pakistan & Deputy Permanent Delegate to UNESCO from 2018-19, where i defended Pakistan & core cultural/educational interests. I have had additional specialized diplomatic training at Clingendael Institute, The Hague and Diplomacy Academy, Ankara. I undertook my mandatory foreign language course in France and am fully proficient in French.

Imam ul Haq

International Cricketer

Represents Pakistan in Tests, ODI and T20 Cricket on an International Level. He plays for both Pakistan Cricket Team and Peshawar Zalmi as an opener. He is the second Pakistani batsman after Saleem Elahi to score an ODI hundred on debut and currently holds the highest opening partnership in ODIs, with 304 runs with Fakhar Zaman. In January 2019, during the third ODI against South Africa, Imam became the second fastest batsman to score 1,000 runs in ODIs, doing so in his 19th innings.

He is a BSSJ alumnus who did his Bachelors in Software Engineering from Warsaw University of Technology, Poland. Beaconhouse prepared me both intellectually and socially, for my career and adult life. Entering college, not everyone knows what they want to do when they grow up. Hasan Khan

A Pakistani Cricketer

made his List-A debut in the  2016 Pakistan Cup. Prior to his debut, he was named in Pakistan & squad for the 2016 Under 19 Cricket World Cup. He made his Twenty20 debut for Quetta Gladiators in Pakistan Super League (2017). He made his first class debut for Karachi Whites and got the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy (2017).  He served as the captain of Pakistan & squad for Under-19 Cricket World Cup (2018).  He was named in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa & squad for the 2018 Pakistan Cup and was selected to play for the Edmonton Royals in the players & draft for the inaugural edition of the Global T20 Canada tournament.

Suniyya Amna Waraich

PhD candidate at Weil Cornell

Suniyya had been employed with IBM, Littleton (Massachusetts) in the capacity of a software engineer. She worked on a team called Watson Workspace making features for an enterprise messaging application. Currently, she is a 2nd year PhD student in neuroscience. She is pursuing her research regarding vision and is the only Pakistani working on vision related research.

Pashtoon Murtaza Kazi

Assistant Professor (medicine and oncology) at the University of Iowa graduated from Beaconhouse School Quetta in 1998.

His field of interest is gastrointestinal oncology, immuno-oncology and cancer genetics. His goal is to develop a career in academic clinical oncology and transition to being a physician scientist focusing on clinical and translational aspects of gastrointestinal oncology, while providing clinical care to these patients.

Jameel Baig

A budding IT/Data Science Consultant

as well as a research intern at LiveTiles graduated from IBA with a degree in Computer Science in 2016. He then worked for Afiniti, one of the leading Artificial Intelligence companies in Pakistan. Mir Zafar Ali

A renowned visual effects specialist

He is a graduate of Beaconhouse Cambridge Branch, Karachi (now PECHS Campus). He was the Technical Director for the movie the Golden Compass that won an Oscar for best visual effects (2007). Imitating and producing effects for natural phenomena is his forte. He specialised in visual effects from Savannah College of Art and Design, US. He is currently working with Rhythm  & Hues Studios, US and is the Visual Fx Team Lead on Percy Jackson 2. Other projects to his credit are Life of Pi (2012), The Cabin in the Woods (2011), X-Men: First Class (2011), Hop (2011), Yogi Bear (2011), Island of the Lost (2009), The Mummy (2008), The Incredible Hulk (2008), Spiderman 3 (2007) and Ghost Rider (2007). He has worked with prestigious organisations such as Sony Pictures, Imageworks and Digital Domain. He is married to Tamanna Shah who works at Film Production, California as Line Producer/UPM/Production Supervisor.

Syed Ali Raza Nasir


Completed his O Levels Beaconhouse North Nazimabad Cambridge in 2010 with 12 As (Highest achiever) and A Levels Beaconhouse College Campus (BCCG) in 2012 with 3 A* and 1 B. He was also the President of Music Society. He completed his MBBS from Dow Medical University in 2018 and has 3 research articles to his name published in International Peer Reviewed Journals. His major claim to fame is his role as the keyboardist of Kashmir band which won the Pepsi Battle of Bands in 2017 and won Lux Style Award 2018 for the Best Emerging Talent in music. He is the brand ambassador for Yamaha music and MRM since 2018, ambassador of Pepsi co. since 2017, Branch endorsement from Outfitters 2018 and Brand Ambassador for Zellbury 2019.

Hayder Javed Khan Burki

Civil Servant, writer and motivational speaker

is a Beaconhouse alumnus from the first batch of O Levels Quetta Campus (1991). At school, his interests other than academics were writing, singing, acting, athletics and he was also a member of the school cricket team. Atif Shaukat Ali

Grant Thornton Anjum Rahman (a member firm of Grant Thornton International Ltd) graduated from BSS in 2012. After that she did BSC Hons. in Accounting and Finance from Lahore University of Management Sciences (2018). As part of the Grant Thornton team she is responsible for preparing financial models, presentations and proposals, conducting financial analysis, presenting sales and research pitches to clients, investors and banks and undertaking International compliance assignments.

Sidra Iqbal

A well-known TV personality, PR Practitioner, Brand Activist, and Youth Development Advocate and Entrepreneur

A graduate of Beaconhouse Gulshan Campus Karachi. Sidra rose to prominence when she became the first Pakistani to win the prestigious English Speaking Union’s International Public Speaking Championship in London. During her student life, she acted as a Youth Ambassador and a Change Activist at a variety of forums all over the world. She has worked at the British Council, ARY and Ogilvy & Mather, and has hosted and produced talk shows for television and radio. She isinterested in a range of disciplines, which led to her winning a full scholarship to attend the International Relations Summer Programme at Oxford University, UK. Sidra has been part of several international youth forums, owing to her interest in international relations, education and training. Currently, she runs her own PR firm.

Syeda Nain Fatima Abidi

International Cricketer from Pakistan

She is a right-handed batsman with good footwork and can bowl too. Abidi holds the all-time record of being first Pakistani player to score a century in women’s one-day internationals. Abidi served as vice-captain of the Pakistan women cricket team and is vice-captain of her club ZTBL since 2008.

Vocalist, Music Producer, Sound Engineer, Composer

He is an alumnus of Beaconhouse Defence Campus, Lahore (2015). He is also pursuing a dual degree in Accounting and Finance. He got into Barkeley College of Music at a 120% scholarship at the age of 17. He has the distinction of being the first Pakistani to be featured on Radio One, Lebanon and signed to Broadcast Music (Sony LA). He has played at numerous shows all over Pakistan and Dubai. Arsalan & solo album is scheduled for release in 2020.

She is a BLL alumna. She competed and successfully qualified for Civil Services in the year 2012 and inducted in FBR. Currently she is working on projects with senior management at FBR to replicate mechanisms designed on the lines of Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

Ali Zafar

Pakistani Musician

Also known as Prince of Pop, Ali Zafar is a Pakistani musician, actor, painter and model noted around South Asia for his music. Zafar won the “Youth Icon” award from the Lux Style Awards 2007, in Malaysia. He won the Best Male Artist for 2008 at the MTV Awards. Ali graduated from Beaconhouse Defence Lahore, and did undergraduate work at the National College of Arts.

He has worked with renowned activist Asma Jahangir. Hadi Ali was shortlisted for Pride of Newcastle University Award. He also volunteers to advocate for Black and Minority Ethnic Community in UK.

Has a Master’s degree in Public Administration and International Development from the Harvard Kennedy School and an undergrad degree in Finance from LUMS. She has spent the past several years working on private sector development and women’s economic empowerment with Australian Aid and USAID. She has also worked at Finance Ministry of Liberia as well as FINCA Microfinance Bank (formerly Kashf). She has conducted webinars and trainings for other donor programs and has travelled extensively both inside and outside the country.

Hassan Sheheryar Yasin

A graduate of the Beaconhouse Defence Campus, Lahore, is the man behind HSY, a fashion label started in 2000, which employs over 350 people. He won Pakistan’s Lux Style Fashion Designer award in 2006 and has an Honor’s degree in couture from the Pakistan School of Fashion Design. Traditionally a bridal and formal wear couture house, HSY has now also introduced lines of home furniture and interior design accessories. His current clientele includes royal families in the Middle East, socialites in South Asia and, more recently, in the US and Europe. HSY currently houses its flagship studio in Lahore, with complementing stores in Karachi, Manchester, Houston and Dubai.

She is an LLB Honors from the University of London. She has studied for an LLM degree in “Technology, Media and Telecommunications Law  from Queen Mary UK and is also pursuing a course on “Computer Science for Lawyers” from Harvard. Ms. Shaigan has worked as a consultant with various government ministries and international organizations and has also authored the Legislative Brief on the Right to Information Bill for Parliament. She has been nominated as a Global Shaper by the World Economic Forum and as a Young Political Leader by the US Department of State where she served as an official observer at the US Presidential Election 2016. Haroon started his first educational company at the age of 19, establishing and running slum schools that taught street children. In the 8 years since then, he has founded Orenda— with the dream of capturing the most innovative ideas in learning and scaling it to reach underserved, hard to access areas across the globe. The organization produces a gamified, localized curriculum which is delivered through a mobile platform that is adaptive and understanding of the child’s learning needs. The platform is expected to reach 1 million children across multiple countries in the upcoming years and has earned recognition from Queen Elizabeth and Nobel Laureate Malala Yousufzai along the way.

Associate Lawyer- Office of the Attorney General for Pakistan.

He served 3 Attorney-Generals for Pakistan: Mr. Ashtar Ausaf Ali, Mr.Khalid Javaid Khan and Mr. Anwar Mansoor Khan. He has worked on legal research, cases pertaining to the disqualification of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and national security matters including the case of Kulbhushan Yadav before the International Court of Justice (ICJ) among many other cases. He also served as a member of the negotiations team that amicably settled the $ 1.2 Billion ICSID Award in the Karkey matter against Pakistan.

After completing her degree of B.Sc. (Hons.) in Economics from Lahore University of Management Sciences in 2017, Shireen Gul joined Shell Pakistan Limited as the Lubricant Sales Operations Specialist for the Deal Management Team. Visiting faculty was hired from out of town, just so I could take up the subjects I needed for my university applications. Meeza Ubaid

She is Consultant, is a BEC alumnus. She teaches at the Institute for Art and Culture IAC and workis at THAAP (UNESCO accredited NGO in Lahore, Pakistan). She has been involved in heritage preservation and cultural Safeguarding of tangible and intangible heritage through UNESCO and world bank funded projects. She was awarded scholarship by the ITCILO, Turin, Italy for Masters in World Heritage and Cultural projects for Development which concluded with cum laude (distinction). She was also the representative of THAAP and Pakistan in the United Nations headquarters Paris in April 2019. She is also a published researcher with her first publication, a book on the smallest indigenous community of Pakistan, the Kalasha community.

He is a BMI Alumni. He has been honored with the Youngest Entrepreneur of Islamabad award by the Entrepreneur development institute of Pakistan. His entrepreneurial ventures are one of a kind; Sienna restaurant was unique in its ambiance and Nutella spot was the first ever joint serving all Nutella based confectionaries. Additionally, Guilty Pleasures was the first ice cream parlor to introduce ice cream rolls in Islamabad. He has also launched Rimmel Fragrances and a clothing line by the name of The Closet. Other than that he has been involved in numerous theatre plays and music videos. He is a model for the nation’s most highly ranked modelling agency: Citrus talent  He has also worked in Mobilink and Silk bank. Rimmel works at Keep Truckin (A Silicon Valley google based startup in USA) as a Regional Sales Manager for customer expansion.

Ms. Arshad

Research Economist at the Policy Research Institute of Market Economy

She is a BMI A Campus graduate. She further studied from the Institute of Business Administration, Karachi and is also an alumnus of International Academy for Leadership (Gummers Bach, Germany). With a degree in Economics and Mathematics she has been actively engaged with policy research and advocacy since 2017.  She has worked on a wide array of topics from various areas of economics including international trade, public finance, governance, environment and urban economics. Her expertise lies in local economic development, third tier governments and urban competitiveness. Her research interests primarily include social policy issues and urban economics.
